The following classes are offered on the Fall 2009 Group Fitness schedule. Classes are offered on a drop-in basis and are Free to rec center members and guests.  

Boot Camp: Don’t be intimidated by the name, this is a great class for those who want to take a break from traditional aerobics. This challenging workout is a non-choreographed combination class with a variety of cardiovascular conditioning drills intertwined with muscular conditioning exercises to help you improve strength, flexibility, agility, and cardiovascular fitness.

BOSU Strength: Focus on stability, balance and core function with this full body strengthening workout. The BOSU is the essence of the class while incorperating other strengthening tools for a workout you wont soon forget! (Limited to 25 participants)

Cardio Ball: Reach outside your comfort zone and get on the ball! A challenging class that offers a strong cardiovascular and muscular workout all in one. Utilizing the exercise ball, you'll work through calorie blasting floor moves and strengthening exercises.

Complete Conditioning: A FREE combination class that blends a 30 minute indoor cycling segment followed by a non-choreographed boot-camp style workout held in the Group Fitness Studio. The class provides a complete workout; incorporating cardiovascular, strength, and flexibility training, in a class that keeps you on the move! Meets in the Cycle Studio.

Core Conditioning: An intense abs and back strengthening class focusing on stability, power, and alignment of the core. Improve your body’s physical efficiency, posture, and core function.

Dance Strength and Stretch: Designed to increase flexibility and muscle control, this class is not only just for dancers. Strengthen the upper and lower body while amplifying flexibility to enhance bodily awareness, decrease risk of injury and improve dance technique.

Group Run: Perfect for those who want to start a running program and/or develop running skills. When weather permits, enjoy a guided 3 to 4 mile run by an experienced instructor that will build endurance and endorphins. Upon bad weather, stay in the Group Fitness Studio to improve running efficiency by working on speed, agility, flexibility and strength. Wear appropriate attire for the weather; layers recommended. Meets in Group Fitness Studio.

Hip Hop: This street smart class uses a variety of the latest music and dance moves to give you a great cardio workout.

Kickboxing: A power-packed hour of intense cardiovascular kickboxing drills with muscular conditioning added to the mix.

Step Basics: A 45-minute workout for beginner steppers. Learn the basics of step so you can feel comfortable walking into any step class.

Step Energy: Energize yourself with this moderate to high intensity class for those who have experienced the basics of stepping and are looking for the next challenge. Intermediate/Advanced.

Step Interval: A great cardio step workout intertwined with muscular conditioning intervals. Sure to make you sweat!

Total Body Flexibility: Flexibility is the most neglected component of fitness.  Experience a 30-minute guided flexibility routine using stretching principles adapted from athletics, fitness, yoga and pilates.  Stretching enhances physical capabilities, decreases risk for injury, and reduces stress.  Enjoy this relaxing, lengthening, rejuvenating class.  The perfect end to any workout or great way to end the day.

Total Body Strength: A total body workout that focuses on defining and building strength. This class will use a variety of equipment and exercises to keep your body challenged.

willPower & grace TM: This cutting edge barefoot training workout is cardio and core-conditioning like you’ve never seen! A fusion of principals: dance, yoga, pilates, and old-school calisthenics.

Zumba: A fusion of latin rhythms and dance moves create a heart-racing, muscle-pumping, body-energizing workout that is fun and easy to follow. The routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt.
