The following Mind Body Classes are offered on the Fall schedule.
Anusara Inspired: This unique style of yoga blends John Friend's eloquent Universal Principles of Alignment with a life affirming philosophy of intrinsic goodness. These classes offer each stucent the opportunity to step into and celebrate their own unique gifts by cultivating an understanding of the outer body and the inner landscape of the heart and mind.
Beginning Yoga: This class explores the most fundamental aspects of yoga, emphasizing proper alignment in the asanas (poses), breathing practices, and beginning yoga philosophy. Participants receive clear demonstrations and easy explanations of everything in the class. This class is suitable for beginners and is also recommended for those who may wish to strengthen the foundation of their practice.
Integral Yoga: This class teaches a classic style of hatha yoga designed to take the body through its full range of motion, promoting flexibility, core stability, health, relaxation, and mindfulness.
Intermediate Yoga: For those students who are committed to yoga practice and in good physical condition. It is important for students to know how to work safely and non-competitively with their physical, mental, and emotional edges. Class will include some advanced inversions, arm balances, and vinyasa.
Meditation: Enjoy the benefits of meditation taught using basic principles derived from the ancient yogic tradition. Meditation has been shown to improve physical, mental, and emotional health. FREE
Power Yoga: Experience a rigorous and athletic form of yoga that incorporates powerful and challenging movements into a sequence of flowing postures. This is an energizing class with traditional yoga poses that encourage alignment, flexibility, balance, strength, and cardiovascular endurance. Participants will leave this class with a calmness that is found through body and spirit awareness.
Restorative Yoga: Restorative yoga provides an antidote to stress and helps the practitioner connect with the body’s natural healing mechanisms. This gentle, restorative flow offers deep relaxation through breath and gentle movement.
Yoga Flow: This flow of yoga poses will tone and strengthen your body leaving you feeling refreshed and energized! You will learn alignment and breathing techniques which enhance your enjoyment of yoga. Flow classes may be further enhanced with a gentle focus to wind down after a long day or a creative focus for optimum self exploration. These classes are appropriate for all levels of experience.
