Avalanche Level I Training CoursesThree sections of a 3-day, hut-based Avalanche Level I course will be offered in January 2010. Registration begins Dec. 1, 2009. Based out of the Michigan Reservoir cabins in the Colorado State Forest State Park, these courses include a comprehensive two-day field experience with two evenings of classroom and discussion-based learning in the cabin. Participants must provide their own over-the-snow travel gear and clothing, transportation, and food for the the trip. The Outdoor Adventure will provide instructors, avalanche safety equipment (beacon, shovel, probe) as needed, textbook, and related materials. Enrollment is limited to 10 students in section 1 and 8 students in sections 2 and 3. Enroll early to get a spot. Section 1: January 13-15 (Wednesday-Friday) Course leaves Fort Collins at 12:00 p.m. Wed., Jan. 13, ends at Colorado State Forest on Friday, January 15, 2010.
