Judo, translated to English, means "the way of softness". Some have called it Japanese Wrestling. It is a means of maximizing one's own power and efficiency, while using an opponent's strength against him, making it an effective means of self-defense. Judo concentrates on throwing, wrestling, and joint locking techniques, and the workouts are intense. It is practiced both as a martial art and a martial sport, and is an excellent way to develop physical and mental discipline. Beginners and experienced students welcome.
